For the fiscal year July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014
We are so excited to report to you on the progress we have made during the most recent fiscal year, July 1, 2013 - June 30, 2014. Children’s Hospital Foundation (CHF), established in 1978 to support the original Children’s Hospital, now provides support for the programs and initiatives of Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU (CHoR), the region’s full-service pediatric hospital. Since we became an independent foundation in 2010, CHF has provided $26.9 million in payments and pledges to support CHoR, including $6.1 million paid during the most recent fiscal year.
Throughout this report you will find examples of the types of programs we have chosen to support. We continue to believe that the most important work we can do is to provide funding that enables clinical programs to develop and grow. Our resources have been used to recruit the finest pediatric physicians and clinical specialists from across the country. By helping to build these programs, we will advance the way quality health care is provided to the children of our community.
Each of the children and families featured tells the story of the challenges they have faced and overcome with the help of the pediatric specialists who worked with them. We hope that these stories will help you understand the nature of the very important work being achieved at CHoR and why your support is critical to our ability to provide funding for the hospital.
We hope you will be pleased with the progress we have made. We are most grateful to those of you who have supported us in the past and we welcome those who may want to become involved for the first time. With your support we can continue to do good work for all of our children.
We trust you will continue to keep Children’s Hospital Foundation in your heart.
