As we complete our third year of operation as an independent foundation, we are pleased to share with you the progress we have made in that very short period of time. Established in 1978 to support the original Children’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital Foundation (CHF) now provides support for our primary focus, the programs and initiatives of Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU (CHoR), the region’s full-service pediatric hospital.
During the last three years, CHF has provided over $18 million in payments and pledges to support CHoR. Included in that number is $5.2 million provided during the most recent fiscal year, July 1, 2012 – June 30, 2013. In the pages of this report you will find some very compelling examples of the types of programs we have chosen to support.
Each of the children and families featured tells the story of the challenges they have faced and overcome with the help of the pediatric specialists who worked with them. We hope that these stories will help you understand the nature of the very important work being achieved at CHoR and why your support is critical to our ability to provide funding for the hospital.
We trust you will be pleased with the progress we have made. We are most grateful to those of you who have supported us in the past and we welcome those who may want to become involved for the first time. With your support we can continue to do good work for our children.
Please know that your support enables the Foundation in helping to produce the wonderful outcomes you will read about in this report.
