Change Bandits are volunteers who fill their piggy banks with spare change donations from co -workers, classmates, family and friends to give to Children’s Miracle Network Richmond. This is a fun and easy program that’s perfect for individuals, businesses, office buildings, school groups or civic and community service organizations. All funds raised benefit Children’s Hospital of Richmond to advance health care services for children in Central Virginia.
The first step to becoming a Change Bandit is to register with Children’s Miracle Network Richmond by contacting Danielle Kocubinski by email at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or by phone at (804) 228-5929. You’ll then set up your online fundraising page and have the option to get a Change Bandit packet if you’d like to do in-person fundraising as well. You can get started with your online fundraising right away by customizing your page and getting the word out through the tools provided on the site. If you’ve elected to collect change in person, we will send out information packets with everything you’ll need for the program-posters, stickers, coin canisters, etc.
Change Bandit Month will take place in September. During this time, you can fill your piggy bank by collecting change for one day, a week, or for the whole month&emdash;whatever works best for you! When your campaign is over, go around and collect the spare change from co-workers, classmates, teachers, family and friends (bills and checks or money orders made payable to Children’s Miracle Network Richmond are also accepted). Everyone who gives can receive a Change Bandit sticker. You may also ask people to give by supporting you online.
If you are fundraising with an organization or business, perhaps they will consider matching the funds you’ve collected. Have fun with it, get creative and fill up that piggy bank!
Donations may be turned in online and at the Radiothon event by scheduling a date and time. Additional information will be sent out regarding donation times once you’ve registered.
