Emphasizing their commitment to health and safety, Kohl’s Department Stores have designated proceeds from the Kohl’s Cares® program to support outreach efforts in partnership with CHoR. Programming centers on the Kohl’s Department Stores Dental Outreach Program which involves dental outreach representatives from CHoR sharing dental health information and resources with school nurses, kindergartners and first graders at area schools.

During the 2009-2010 school year, dental education and training were provided to over 9,500 students at 55 elementary schools in Richmond and surrounding areas.

How You Can Help

Through the Kohl’s Cares® program, Kohl’s offers special $5 items for sale four times a year with 100 percent of net profits donated to designated health and educational programs across the country. Items purchased from the Kohl’s Cares® collection at the five Richmond area Kohl’s stores benefit Children’s Hospital Foundation. The products, which include children’s books, plush toys and seasonal items, are typically offered beginning in January, May, July and October. Since 2001, more than $775,000 has been raised by these locations and used to support safety initiatives and hospital programs.
