Funds raised by Children’s Hospital Foundation support children served right here in Central Virginia. In a given year, Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU (CHoR) provides care for tens of thousands of children from Farmville to Williamsburg, from the Tri-Cities area to Fredericksburg, and beyond. Recently, the Foundation has supported a variety of services at CHoR, including:

  • $752,265 to support the recruitment of an additional highly-skilled pediatric radiologist to provide services to the hospital’s growing patient population
  • $367,000 to fund a pediatric hospitalist fellowship program that will provide training for future pediatric hospitalists, who provide care only to hospitalized patients
  • $342,445 for an initiative designed to enhance collaboration between child psychiatry and general pediatrics that can address access to treatment, improve education and training, and help overcome barriers to clinical research in the field of pediatric mental health
  • $266,307 for the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology and increase accessibility to pulmonary services for inpatients and outpatients
  • $100,000 to fund a two-year grant to improve the hospital’s research competitiveness
