New Pavilion and Parking Deck on MCV Campus
November 14th, 2011
Plans are currently underway for construction of a new Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU’s (CHoR) Pavilion to consolidate the majority of CHoR’s pediatric treatment and diagnostic areas currently spread throughout the MCV Campus into one facility. In addition to being more convenient for families, having multiple physicians and services in one location will improve care and care coordination.
The new pavilion, which is expected to be complete in early 2015, will house 72 clinical exam rooms organized for efficient multidisciplinary care; a surgical area with two operating rooms and two endoscopy procedure rooms; areas for diagnostic cardiology, imaging, neurodiagnostic treatment, outpatient lab services and pulmonary function testing; and shell space for future growth. The facility will be designed to create a family-friendly experience and will include a parking deck with 600 dedicated new spaces.
