The Annual Children's Hospital Foundation Ball
- Friday, November 3, 2017
- The Country Club of Virginia
Presented by Davenport & Company LLC and LeClairRyan, the 54th Annual Children’s Hospital Foundation Ball will take place on the evening of Friday, November 3, 2017. This year’s theme, “The Art of Healing,” will bring to life past time periods in art history and salute the healing nature of artistic endeavors. Against a backdrop of elegant and whimsical floor-to-ceiling decorations and tablescapes, we will support a Healing Garden at the hospital's mental health facility and support the ongoing operations of the Children's Hospital Foundation Heart Center.
The Annual Ball is organized by the Junior Board of Children's Hospital Foundation, a volunteer auxiliary board comprised of 50 women. The highlight of the Junior Board’s fundraising year is the annual Children’s Hospital Foundation Ball, held each November. The Ball’s carefully chosen theme is portrayed through lavish and creative decorations which adorn the public rooms of The Country Club of Virginia. Junior Board members spend tireless hours designing, creating, painting, and finally nailing the finishing touches to the decorations that delight and often surprise the Ball patrons.
The Ball is a black tie event. Tickets are available in pairs and will be available for purchase online soon.
Available at levels of $5,000 and above, our corporate sponsors receive recognition in the commemorative 54th Annual Ball Program, seating at the Ball and other unique benefits.

This year’s Ball will support two important projects at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. The event will dedicate $100,000 to create a Healing Environment at the Virginia Treatment Center for Children (VTCC), and the remaining proceeds will support the ongoing operations of the Children’s Hospital Foundation Heart Center.
A new VTCC facility, which is the mental health arm of Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU, will open in the fall of 2017 on the Brook Road Campus, and it will feature a special Healing Environment for children and families. Components will include a walking labyrinth, outdoor gardens, art & music therapy and special therapeutic program guests.
The Heart Center opened in 2014 with a $28 million commitment from Children’s Hospital Foundation (CHF). Working with a full spectrum of specialists in cardiology, anesthesia, surgery, perfusion, pediatrics, nursing, pharmacy, respiratory therapy and others, the CHF Heart Center offers services ranging from fetal cardiology and interventional cardiac catheterization to surgery and transplant. Dr. Thomas Yeh, Director, and his team continue to grow the program which is the only one of its kind in Richmond.
