Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
In 2011, Children’s Hospital Foundation established the William Tate Graham, MD Endowed Chair with a gift of $1 million to support a pediatric physician in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Dr. Graham was the founder of the original Crippled Children’s Hospital in Richmond, which began as a free outpatient clinic to care for children with polio. The endowed position is currently held by Dr. Karen Hendricks-Munoz.
The NICU at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU (CHoR) provides quiet surroundings, 32 private rooms and the most advanced technologies available to create a healing environment for premature and critically ill newborns.
